Made to Want?

Stopped by one of my fave boutiques this weekend, Hillary Rush, and came across this leather jacket by the t-shirt brand, LA Made. This well-priced jacket is a 100% leather. I like the cropped-style of the jacket, but for some reason, I am on the fence about making a purchase. hmmm.....

It's Coming...

....A.P.C. Los Angeles store opening tomorrow. Sooooo excited! I love love love this euro brand that embodies a minimalist attitude. Can't wait.

This to arrive at the end of this month. I'd love to get my hands on one, especially since my cell phone randomly died on me on the way home today. No reason. It just died. Damn, the razr.

Like U Crazy

During my (usual) shopping excursion around 3rd street and Sweetzer this past weekend, I came across the newest shop on the block, Rodan vs Griffith. This shop, named after the 2 designers behind the label, is unlike all the others in this area. As soon as my friend and I walked into the store, we were greeted by the nicest designers/shop owners I have ever met. They were so welcoming and enthusiastic that they just made you wanna buy something (and in fact, I did - the racer tank, below, in grey; I am such a sucker). The duo, who moved from Philly to Los Angeles just about 6 years, produce everything locally. Right now, they have the store stocked with racer tanks, button-down blouses, dresses with hand-braided detail, pants (skinny and cropped) and acid wash jeans. The pair just really seem to complement each other well, and I am so excited to see where they go from here.

Looks Just Like the Sun

I am loving the new arrivals at Creatures of Comfort! These 2 items are on my Want list:

APC Ruffle Dress. I love this orange color! The ruffles around the square neck add a girlish touch. I can't exactly express why I love this label so much, but I know 2 things - adorable clothes and it fits me really well. I guess what more do you need to know.

Crispin & Basilio Apron Dress. Another label on my list of favorites! I love the tight fit around the waist. And the side pockets are a great plus.

Heart of Glass

I saw this Bing Bang bracelet at Barney's yesterday, and I must have! My wrist is starting to feel really bare without something. Right now there is only one bracelet that I wear and it is no substitute for something like this.

I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor

Kate Moss' collection for TopShop. So far, so good. The dresses are what appeal to me, especially the first one. (Dammit Irina for being so cute!) I usually don't like the asymmetrical strap, but it works on this dress. It complements the bottom hem perfectly. Just lovely.

Manic Monday

Check out Quail, a label by Michelle Nguyen, another Los Angeles-based designer. She finds inspiration from "vintage charm and modern simplicity." For those on the West Coast, 3rd Street shop, Filly, in Los Angeles will be hosting an event featuring the Summer 2007 Collection on April 19th; and for those on the East, Lola Y Maria will host the event on April 5th. Cocktails, art and live music will all take part in this event - it's definitely worth checking out. Yay, shopping and drinks!

Here are some looks from the Spring Collection.

Cafe Au Lait

Found this cute apron on the Lotta Jansdotter site. This label always has cute stuff! If I had a cute apron like this, I might just cook more often :)

Nobody Walks in LA

In an effort to contain my (bad) habit of impulse shopping, I have decided to avoid the shops today, and instead, do some internet browsing. Maybe this way, I can narrow things down and buy only those things "I want." (well, at least, this is what I'm telling myself. I have a feeling I'll end up at the shops tomorrow, but at least of tried :)

Anyway, one purchase I have decided to make is these cute pair of F-Troupe elastic strappy sandals. I think I'll take the blue one, thank you! The striped sole is a nice touch. Perfect for warm Los Angeles weather! And possibly, great for my upcoming excursion to Coachella.

And I am seriously thinking about these as well. What to do? What to do? I love the v-shape that the straps make.

More shoes from F-Troupe...

So Soft, So Delicate

Isn't this dress just so delicate and beautiful? The detail and the lace is what attracted me to this amazing piece by Prospect 44, a label created by LA-based designer, Marlene Salcido. She believes that people who wear her clothes are "fashion forward, willing to take fashion risks and not afraid to start a trend." Her designs are featured at some of my favorite local stores, Apartment 3 and Sirens and Sailors. Yay, indie designers!

Pick and Choose

Libertine designs for the Target GO International Collection. The complete outfits don't appeal to me, but, as separate pieces, most of them can definitely work. My picks - the striped shirt dress in the first row and the white three-quarter sleeve blouse in the last row.

Studded

I have added Devotte sandals to my spring shopping list. I am determined to buy them. Last year, I was set on buying a pair, but sadly, they ran out out of my size by the time I came back to the store (dammit for being a size 6!). Well, hopefully this year it'll be "meant to be." It's either the pair above or this one.

Frost Yourself

I have been searching for a bling ring FOREVER! The Kenneth Jay Lane square-cut ring is now on my wanted list. Most of the ones I currently own are just not shnazzy enough, but the one below is a good size, and it can be worn both, elegantly and casually. And if I don't feel like spending too much, there are cheaper alternatives at Urban Outfitters.

Creamy Goodness

Chie Mihara knows cute shoes. I am in love with the pair below! The perforation in these round-toe shoes is a perfect detail that adds to its overall amazing style; and the t-strap design adds a cute girlish flair. Perfect for spring with a cute minidress, and great for fall with colored tights.

Color within the Lines

Jason Cauchi's focus for his Dallin Chase collection was about creating easy and wearable pieces that would essentially become the perfect dress. To me, the focus doesn't seem so quite innovative when a variety of designers are trying to create that same effortless look. But, with that aside, his current spring collection (consisting only of dresses) is still more amazing than the rest; and it is definitely very wearable. He shapes his designs by using blocks of color and thin outlines to create a great silhouette. Take the bottom dress - thick white edges with blue trim around the cute empire-waist and bottom hem; such great use of color and lines. I love it! All three of these dresses are really fabulous, and they are each so different from one another. To see more, check out Satine's website.

High Society

Society for Rational Dress: 2007 Spring Collection. Their spring collection continues with their signature button-filled designs, except this time they are adding belts and ties around the waist. The colors are neutral and denim blue, and the fabrics are extremely light (linen, silk, bamboo denim and cotton). Find their designs at Scout and American Rag in Los Angeles.

Jumpin Jumpin

I am loving these See by Chloe jumpers. The puffy-sleeve, button-down jumper would look just right with a cute pair of wedgies. Perfect for spring! and for a more casual look, this blue marine, cotton jumper with belts and pockets is adorable. Flats and a cute tote would make it just right for a nice, sunny day.

I heart the City

I have had my eye on the Anna Corinna City Tote bag for the longest time! I seriously think it has been 2 years! Unfortunately, I can't wear the regular-sized City Tote bag because it takes over half my body, but the mini city tote bag is just perfect. I've been searching around the stores for the Tobacco color and have had no luck, but I recently saw the black tote at Atmosphere in Silver Lake and I literally fell in love. I also did some internet-searching and found an exclusive red bag available at Wink NYC. Oh my! Now which color do I choose?

See Spot Go

Marc by Marc Jacobs flats. Must have! I love the fringed detail around the toe. Since these shoes are gray, they'll last all year long.

Choo choo

Everytime, I visit Chocosho.com, I want to say choo-choo-scho . My eyes are totally deceiving me.

This site's mission is promote young, emerging designers. It carries a nice collection of designers, such as Grey Ant, Nicholas K, Erica Weiner, Hansel from Basel and many more. And there's stuff for everyone - boys, girls and home. It doesn't carry the same variety as the bigger sites like, shopbop, but they pride themselves on providing limited edition pieces.

Items on my wish list....
