You're My Aeroplane

Oh, Chanel, you are so bling. I think I've fallen in love with you all over again. Your awesome bags with your chain links, your fabulous jewelry with your signature C's, your lovely shoes and those fine pieces of clothing that only can be crafted by you. I love.

Seriously, can I have these?

Like U Crazy

During my (usual) shopping excursion around 3rd street and Sweetzer this past weekend, I came across the newest shop on the block, Rodan vs Griffith. This shop, named after the 2 designers behind the label, is unlike all the others in this area. As soon as my friend and I walked into the store, we were greeted by the nicest designers/shop owners I have ever met. They were so welcoming and enthusiastic that they just made you wanna buy something (and in fact, I did - the racer tank, below, in grey; I am such a sucker). The duo, who moved from Philly to Los Angeles just about 6 years, produce everything locally. Right now, they have the store stocked with racer tanks, button-down blouses, dresses with hand-braided detail, pants (skinny and cropped) and acid wash jeans. The pair just really seem to complement each other well, and I am so excited to see where they go from here.

Steal the Blueprints

Another pair of cute flats from Maloles to add to my wanted list. Love the color! Love the leather! This pair can add so much to any outfit.

Double Shadow

Love this top by United Bamboo! Pleats, which I used to think only worked on skirts, has transgressed into blouses. It makes this top appear much more comfortable; and let's face it, less restricting. I also love the sleeves and the fit of the neckline. United Bamboo is definitely making its mark in the fashion world. They know how to design stylish, comfortable pieces without ever having to compromise that edgy, unique look.

I'm Not an IT Bag

This eco-friendly bag by British handbag designer Anya Hindmarch is definitely working its magic in bringing lots of attention towards the movement of being ecologically responsible. Everyone has been going crazy over this bag, and I have fallen victim to that craze. The bag is sold out in London and is now making its way overseas. In the US, it will only be carried by Ron Herman and Fred Segal Flair; and according to ronherman.com, the pre-order is already sold out. And, of course, many people from the UK are already selling it on ebay for hundreds of dollars. I don't know if I'll ever get my hands on one with this kind of madness, but if I do, you will be the first to know.

Live in Sunshine

Great Spring/Summer collection from Anna and Boy, shown at Australian Fashion Week.

(Not a big fan of those head wraps, but they really do work here. Dammit, I hate having to admit that.)

Come on Petunia

I fell in love with Lee Matthews' Spring/Summer 07/08 Collection shown at Australian Fashion Week. It's versatile, classic, and completely wearable.

Well Thought Out Twinkles

Australian Spring/Summer 07/08 Fashion Week kicked off this past weekend. Overall, good stuff, but nothing ground-breaking. Alice McCall and Camilla and Marc are the favorites so far, but I'm interested in seeing what the remaining designers have to offer.

Keep the Car Running

I apologize for slacking on the blogging. Things have been extremely intense the past week with work (ugh) and Coachella (yay). Yes, yes, I made the trek to the extremely hot desert of Indio, California to see some awesome outdoor performances. Overall, the experience was fun times, like always. So fun, that I'm still recovering.

Performances I saw (some the whole set, and some a few songs):

Tokyo Police Club. Amy Winehouse. Silversun Pickups. Arctic Monkeys. The Jesus and Mary Chain. Interpol. Bjork. Hot Chip. Peter Bjorn & John. Kings of Leon. The Arcade Fire. Girl Talk. LCD Soundsystem. The Rapture. The Roots. CSS. Lily Allen. Air. Teddybears. Rage Against the Machine.

There were many that I wish I had seen, but due to conflicts with other bands, I couldn't. Oh well, there's always next time.

For your enjoyment, here are some photos I took.
