Manila Style
WWD named Crispin & Basilio one of the top Los Angeles designers to watch out for (and so did Nylon Magazine in 10/06 & Lucky Magazine in 11/06 - the line is definitely growing in popularity). Designer Donny Barrios is said to capture "Californian sophistication mixed with the ease of a more continental approach to cool." You can see what they are talking about in his spring line shown above. (I am loving the layered top with pockets!) He will be presenting his fall collection next week during Los Angeles Fashion Week. Yay for LA designers! (and his Filipino too. How cute is that!)

More Adventurous
I listened to Rilo Kiley this morning, and I was reminded of how great Jenny Lewis is. Not only does she have a soothing voice, but she has such an amazing sense of style. She wears vintage so well and everything she puts together just looks so good that I never question it. Her face and look is unbelievably timeless. I can just imagine her in almost any era - in 1920s flapper style, a 50s skirt, a 60s mod mini, 70s denim, and 80s rock style. and she just has this radiance about her. i love! (and I'm so jealous that she can pull off the full-frontal bangs and wavy hair. Ugh! Why can't I have gorgeous hair?)
Creamy Goodness
Chie Mihara knows cute shoes. I am in love with the pair below! The perforation in these round-toe shoes is a perfect detail that adds to its overall amazing style; and the t-strap design adds a cute girlish flair. Perfect for spring with a cute minidress, and great for fall with colored tights.
Color within the Lines
Jason Cauchi's focus for his Dallin Chase collection was about creating easy and wearable pieces that would essentially become the perfect dress. To me, the focus doesn't seem so quite innovative when a variety of designers are trying to create that same effortless look. But, with that aside, his current spring collection (consisting only of dresses) is still more amazing than the rest; and it is definitely very wearable. He shapes his designs by using blocks of color and thin outlines to create a great silhouette. Take the bottom dress - thick white edges with blue trim around the cute empire-waist and bottom hem; such great use of color and lines. I love it! All three of these dresses are really fabulous, and they are each so different from one another. To see more, check out Satine's website.

Marc3 for Marc Jacobs?
The International Hearld Tribune recently published an article mentioning Marc Jacobs' interest in producing a third, low-cost line that will fall below Marc by Marc Jacobs. Could this be done - a designer covering such a wide range of price points? Don't get me wrong, I'll probably be more than interested in purchasing some items, but this is definitely a risk and a challenge for any designer. But I'm guessing, with the recent Target and H&M designer collaborations, this idea can prove to be quite a success.

Spring Forward
Ok, I am ready for spring, and I'm ready for these shorts. The Alice and Olivia bloomer shorts may not complement my body type, but I find them perfect for a more-than-casual look. The one pleat shorts are a nice light denim that can be mixed and matched with a bunch of different things. and the Sunner ones, oh, they are a just a must have. No need to explain its cuteness.

London Calling
This Monday British Vogue is releasing their April 2007 issue featuring Kate Moss. This is the moment people have been waiting for. Kate gives readers a glimpse of her TopShop collection by modeling the clothes herself. Editor Alexendra Shulman says, "Every outfit she pulls on looks sexy and cool – the poppy-print chiffon minidress, the tie-back tuxedo-waistcoat evening dress, the striped busboy jacket with tiny matching shorts, even the flared satin glam-rock trousers."
I can't wait to see it. The girl has awesome style, so seeing what kind of collection she has put together will be every interesting.

Kirsten Dunst is a character. I definitely have a love/hate feeling towards her. Sometimes I find her charmingly cute; and I just adore her bohemian chic style. And other times....she just looks like a total train wreck.
This is the exact same way I feel about the her feature in the April 2007 issue of W magazine. I'm not digging the cover. The hair is a mess. I mean, seriously, I'm all for the disheveled hair look, but you can comb your hair once in a while. But I do like the photo spread. She has a calm, awkwardness about her that looks great, especially in black and white.

High Society
Society for Rational Dress: 2007 Spring Collection. Their spring collection continues with their signature button-filled designs, except this time they are adding belts and ties around the waist. The colors are neutral and denim blue, and the fabrics are extremely light (linen, silk, bamboo denim and cotton). Find their designs at Scout and American Rag in Los Angeles.
Jumpin Jumpin
I am loving these See by Chloe jumpers. The puffy-sleeve, button-down jumper would look just right with a cute pair of wedgies. Perfect for spring! and for a more casual look, this blue marine, cotton jumper with belts and pockets is adorable. Flats and a cute tote would make it just right for a nice, sunny day.

Light on my Feet
I was never a ballerina, but if I were, this would be my outfit of choice.

I heart the City
I have had my eye on the Anna Corinna City Tote bag for the longest time! I seriously think it has been 2 years! Unfortunately, I can't wear the regular-sized City Tote bag because it takes over half my body, but the mini city tote bag is just perfect. I've been searching around the stores for the Tobacco color and have had no luck, but I recently saw the black tote at Atmosphere in Silver Lake and I literally fell in love. I also did some internet-searching and found an exclusive red bag available at Wink NYC. Oh my! Now which color do I choose?
Make you do a Double Take
When I first looked through the Chloe F/W 07 collection, I found it a little short of amazing. So I took a closer look at the shoes and accessories (very signature Chloe) and I looked through the collection again, and then it began to grow on me. Specifically, the orange, sheer, drop-waist dress just got me. Orange never looked this good and feminine. The asymmetrical-strap dress was also a darling piece reminiscent of what was earlier this week from Costume National (bonus: the dress has pockets).
All in all, Designer Paolo Melim Andersson has omitted some of the usual frilly Chloe looks that people know and love, and instead, brought a harder, young edge to his designs (similar to his days at Marni). I'm intrigued; not so sure about the brand loyalists though.

Short and Sweet
Stella McCartney's Fall/Winter 07/08 Collection was just adorable! All her pieces looked so effortlessly feminine and chic. Nothing was overtly trendy; everything truly looked classic and timeless, even the hot pink jumpsuit. I'm not one to wear jumpsuits but this one just looks well-tailored and amazing. And, of course, the shoes. I couldn't take my eyes off them. They were simple but yet stylish (especially those pink t-strap ones at the bottom right - too cute!)

Criss-cross
Costume National Fall/Winter 07/08 Collection. Very sleek looks. Bold colors. Some designs a bit military-like. Strappy necklines (love!). All of these have made Costume National stand out just a bit more.

Brand New Colony
Givenchy's Fall/Winter 07/08 Collection. As a whole, I liked this collection. Although I couldn't do the dramatically ankle-flared pants (not shown here), everything else seemed wearable. I loved the mix of dark blues and black. Such a great pairing. A military-feel seemed to be an underlining theme to most of his designs (especially the jackets), but yet, Riccardo Tisci managed to keep it soft and feminine.
